Claas says it is planning a short-time working phase for parts of the workforce at the Harsewinkel site in August 2025 and at the Paderborn site in September. A total of around 1,000 employees in production will be affected. Beyond this, no short-time working is planned at other locations this year.
Claas is more optimistic about the coming new year 2026 and expects stable and slightly recovering markets. Jan-Hendrik Mohr, CEO Claas Group: "Claas will implement its planned investment program unchanged."
Temporary short-time work in selected areas will help to secure existing jobs in the long term and bridge the temporary decline in orders, the statement continues. "The background to this measure is the persistently challenging market conditions in the agricultural sector. A noticeable reluctance to invest on the part of farmers and contractors is combined with macroeconomic and geopolitical uncertainties and, in some cases, low producer prices."
At the Harsewinkel plant, the period (August 18 to 29, 2025) falls within the regular Harsewinkel plant shutdown, thus extending it by two working weeks.
